Starting your social enterprise?
- You’ve had an idea
- You’ve recognised a lack of services
- There’s something missing in your community
Above all you have a PASSION to start something.
All of these are good places to start your social enterprise. As an entrepreneur you will want to get things moving quickly. However a good social enterprise will survive on planning.
All new start up businesses need support and an ability to communicate their message and enthuse investors, whether that is a bank or grant funder.
So the first step is to make sure you have a researched business idea. Social enterprises ‘trade’ to make them sustainable so any idea that is reliant on grant funding will not be sustainable in the long run.
- Do you have a product or service to sell?
- Will someone buy it?
From there you will develop your business plan. MKCE runs SFEDI accredited “Start Your Business“ courses.
MKCE offers a free one hour start up surgery to talk through your idea and to get you started on your journey, so contact us for a diagnosis!
